Event was organized @ the Quadron IT park from 21st March to 25th March 2014.
The main attractions of the event were as follows.
1) Photography Gallery.
2) Walkthrough the vintage cameras and their history
3) Walk and talk on composition in photography
4) Tips on how to make the best out of your digital cameras
5) Photo booth
6) Photography competition.
Photography Gallery – It showcased my portfolio work. Images that I had taken in different areas, from Industrial, commercial, fashion, kids, travel, wedding, food, wildlife, stock, jewelry, and many more. Along with this I had also displayed the picture taken by some other photographers who displayed photographs on a single topic such as wedding, food and fashion. The idea behind displaying the images was to create awareness about the different forms of photography.
Walkthrough the vintage cameras and their history – People who never got a chance to see how the old vintage cameras use to be and how they use to operate got a chance to experience it here. May wanted to grab one and see how they worked. By displaying cameras people got a chance to understand how the cameras use to work and in some way I tried to create a journey of conventional cameras to digital cameras.
Walk and talk on composition in Photography – most of the people who came to visit the gallery or event had very short time and they wanted to make the best of it. My intention was to make sure when they go back they have something worth for the time spent. I wanted them to create awareness about photography, induce them to take photography either as hobby or as their additional source of earning besides what they already were doing or take it as a serious profession for which I could assist them. While displaying all the images at the gallery I spoke to them what composition in photography means and how it has its importance in a picture. In some way I wanted to convey that by learning basics and principals of photography one can do wonderful work. I was successful in conveying this because I got a good response from the people and everyone wanted to know more about photography and they could do well in it.
Tips on how to make the best out of your digital cameras – Many people who own DSLR or compact cameras have not explored all the options available to them. So I had requested all the people who wished to explore their camera can bring it and we can with all the little time available try to see explore the options which can help them to come up with better photographs. It was really a wonderful event, people brought their DLSR and Compact cameras, and I made sure they got the best of the time they spent at the event.
Photo Booth – To add little fun and excitement we had arranged a Photo Booth. The credit also goes to Mrs. Dipika Singh who not only did the arrangement and setup but also added fun by introducing funny and interesting flags or tag lines take people could hold while taking pictures. People could take their selfie pictures with the lighting and background setup or if they wished I would take a picture of them. Gift voucher were given to those who would take part in displaying a unique selfie pictures by Mrs. Dipika Singh. Every one enjoyed the concept and I saw many of them coming up with different poses and style.
Photography competition – we had also organized photography competition. Every one with their mobile phones, compact cameras or DSLR could take pictures in the campus and we had also given them the topics. Best use of wacky props, best landscape, best use of color and lights and maximum number of people in a picture. The idea was to make them participate and encourage. We had around 25 entries and every one came up with really nice pictures. On the last day of the event we also awarded 4 of the participants with the award.
At the end all we got was a wonderful support and participation from the people. Even The Quadron IT park management made sure that the event went smooth. They were the main powerhouse without their support this event would not had received this success. Many people who attended the event requested to have such events again and I am sure even The Quadron management has taken into account such suggestions.
